Wedeco Acton PE

WEDECO Acton PE series is a closed UV reactor designed to withstand the corrosive conditions in applications like aquaculture farms, aquaria, saltwater thermal pools and well boats. It is made of polyethylene HD-PE (PE100) to endure saltwater and biological elements, providing resiliency and performance also in these demanding conditions.

This series is designed for the aquaculture industry, providing UV water treatment for various intakes, outflows, and recirculating water systems. It enables sensitive operations like incubation, fish hatcheries, and rearing facilities to mitigate the risks of pathogens in their aquatic life support systems – supporting higher production demands and stocking densities while minimizing potential losses.

High capacity at low energy consumption

The Acton PE system uses WEDECO EcoRay® lamps. This technology provides 600 W of power per lamp and emits germicidal UVC in both dimmed mode and at high power levels. The sensor-driven OptiDose® function monitors real-time conditions and adjusts the power levels to target the specified dose, minimizing power consumption.

Flexibility and easy operation

The Acton PE system covers high flows up to 829 m³/h in one reactor. It allows for various standardized installation options and fl ange positions. Lamp replacement is easy and does not require any special tools. Thanks to the high power per lamp, fewer lamps are needed and associated maintenance is reduced. Acton PE units are equipped with the unique EcoTouch controller with a user-friendly graphic touch panel, optionally connecting to SCADA systems (via bus).

Designed to last

The Acton® PE system is made of high- quality polyethylene which is non-corrosive and  reliable in harsh water conditions. The design, including lamps and quartz sleeves, are tested for rough conditions and vibration. The EcoRay® lamp technology guarantees 14,000 operating hours per lamp.

Proven technology

The Acton PE UV series has been validated for water treatment with the latest in microbial testing. Through this testing, performance data has been generated for UV dose delivery to inactivate pathogens generally associated with both drinking and water water such as Cryptosporidium, Giardia, Adenovirus, Escherichia coli (E. coli), enterococci, and faecal coliform.

Xylem has decades of experience  providing UV systems to the aquaculture industry, targeting aquaculture-specific pathogens such as ISA (Infectious salmon anemia) virus and Aeromonas Salmonicida.
